The newer F ONE system from Raphael Salles, comes also from France. This system is like the system of a hang-glider, regarding the construction.
The German company Windtools designed the first water start steering Mat "Moskito pro KS" in 1999 and this established itself worldwide in the Kitesurf-scene.

Kitesurfing
Kitesurfing the most elegant watersport!
Since 1999 Kitesurfing is the spectacular, new water-sport worldwide.
The Kitesurfer uses a steering hang-glider developed especially for Kitesurfing to have himself pulled on a Kitesurf-board.
The steering hang-glider is fastened at approx. 20-30 meters long lines. The kite gets steered through a handlebar.
Since the Kite does not only pull horizontal, but also vertically, therefore very high and far jumps are possible even at low strengths of wind.
By practicing this watersport, the athlete - Kitesurfer - let's himself pulled by a - steering hang-glider -on his surfboard.
The Kite is attached to the steering-bar through lines in the length of 20 to 25 meters. The safety lines, calles leashes, are between the Kitesurfer and his Kite (attached to the lines) and the Kitesurfer and his board.
With this energy the Kite permits high speed while the impetus makes great jumps possible. The best Kitesurfers reach heights up to 20 meters and jumps-distances up to 150 meters.
Kitesurfing has gained significant meaning within the last years. It will surely boom this year because it's already established as a new sport. The reason for the strong increased activity, lies in connection with the elements, water, air and the lifestyle nowadays.
Besides the economical factor, Kitesurfing will also gain in popularity and tourism and stimulate the watersport scene.
